About
Using molecular biology to solve complex biological problems
The Stachura Laboratory started in 2014 when Dr. David Stachura moved to Chico, CA and became an Assistant Professor at Chico State. He quickly earned tenure and advanced to Associate Professor, and soon after to Full Professor. Dr. Stachura earned a multitude of awards at Chico State and ran one of the most successful laboratories on campus. In fact, more graduate students have gotten their degrees in the Stachura Lab in 10 years than most other professors mentor in the whole career.

While Chico State is a primarily teaching institution, Dr. Stachura's teaching pedagogy led him to integrate his research into the classroom every chance that he could get. That resulted in him developing new classes focused on research and hands-on, impactful science for students to participate in. This focus on performing science generated many publications featuring students, many local, national, and international presentations featuring students, and even integrating real experiments into the local middle schools here in Chico. Dr. Stachura also consults with local biotechnology companies and introduced students to this side of science. Want to know more about the most successful laboratory on campus? Read on!

Publications from the Stachura Laboratory
While David Stachura has a multitude of publications, many of those publications came from his time at Chico State. Importantly, they involved undergraduate and Master's students in his lab (and others across the campus).

In the publications below, all undergraduates in the Stachura Laboratory are underlined and all Master's students in the Stachura Laboratory are italicized. Shared authorship is denoted by "*".
